The Lismore Wilson Motel is proud to  announce the opening of special Trail Bike amenities for bike riders and hikers of the Casino-Lismore Rail Trail.

Guests staying at the Lismore Wilson Motel will be able to access a new bike wash station, tool shed and boot wash zone.

The Northern Rivers Rail Trail is converting the 132km disused railway line, into a fabulous destination for bike riders, hikers and walkers to enjoy the diverse towns and villages between Casino and Murwillumbah.

Lismore City Council is currently working on the 16.3km stretch that will link South Lismore to the Bentley section, winding through picturesque rural landscapes. The trail follows the old rail route, crossing through Tweed Shire, Byron Shire, Lismore City, and Richmond Valley Shire.

Construction kicked off in January 2024 on the Lismore to Bentley section, while the Tweed section opened in March 2023. The Casino to Bentley portion was completed in March 2024.

The Lismore Wilson Motel is conveniently located 1.7 Km from the start of the rail trail, Lismore to Bentley section.

The motel rooms are very spacious and are suitable for guests to store their bikes in the rooms during their stay.

The Northern Rivers Rail Trail will eventually be 132 Km and run all the way from Casino to the Tweed Valley through expansive vistas and breathtaking scenery.
